How to switch your card payment provider

4 min read

Switching card processor is easier than most owners expect — the savings are often worth it. Here's the playbook:

  1. Know your current numbers. Pull a recent statement and note your monthly turnover, transaction count, card mix and every fee (transaction, terminal rental, PCI, MMSC). Our AI statement analyzer does this for you in seconds.
  2. Check your contract end date and notice period. Contract providers often need 30–90 days' notice and may charge an early-exit fee. Factor that into the comparison.
  3. Compare on true total cost, not headline rate — include hardware, monthly fees and contract length over a set period.
  4. Order hardware early and run both systems in parallel for a few days.
  5. Cancel the old account in writing once settlement has fully migrated.

Run your figures through the AllSwitched card-payments comparison to see exactly how much you'd save.
